Do I have to wait until spring to start construction?
No, we work year-round! Reach out to us as early or late in the year as you’d like and we will fit you in as soon as we can.
Do I need a permit to build a deck?
Minneapolis Decks will handle everything required ahead of time to comply with city and county permits, making the process as stress-free as possible for you.
Do you provide a rendering of the project ahead of time?
Yes, you can expect several 3-D wireframes of the project utilizing exterior images of your home. This helps our customers narrow down selections and truly envision what the project will look like on their exact home ahead of time.
How long will it take to build my deck?
After selecting your material, sizing, coloring, landing and other features desired for your new deck, you can expect the building process to take between 2-4 weeks. For larger projects that include porches and roofing, it can take around 4-6 weeks, depending on the weather.

What is the ideal decking material to choose?
There is no right or wrong answer, so we’d love to talk it through with you. Schedule a time to come into our showroom and we can discuss the pros and cons of the various materials that are out there. No matter what you choose, we will make sure that you are happy with quality results in the end.
What kind of maintenance will I need to do on my deck?
Selecting a maintenance-free material will allow you to enjoy your deck for 25-30 years with very minimal upkeep. For other materials, it is recommended to periodically wash your deck to avoid debris build up that may cause decay. We also recommend applying a sealant every 1-3 years depending on sun exposure and weather conditions.
What kind of warranty do you provide?
You can be confident in long-lasting, high-quality results from Minneapolis Decks. For the first year after completing the project, we offer a full-service warranty on any repairs or adjustments needed. Just give us a call and we will be there. We also provide a 5-year craftsmanship warranty and a 10-year structural warranty
